La Prairie – June 9, 2017 – The Honorable Jean-Claude Poissant, Member of Parliament for La Prairie and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, is pleased to announce, on behalf of Canadian Heritage Minister Mélanie Joly, the award of a grant Of $ 15,000 to allow a temporary exhibition to be held at the Musée d’archéologie de Roussillon.

This funding is part of Heritage Canada’s Museums Assistance Program.

Clovis – Peuple chasseur de caribous is the title of this new exhibition created by the Museum of Nature and Science in Sherbrooke in collaboration with the University of Montreal. It is presented until October 1st.

This exhibition, designed to please the whole family, presents the way of life of the first humans to have trampled Quebec soil more than 12,000 years ago. It highlights the work of the archaeologists who made these exceptional discoveries between 2003 and 2011. The children will even be able to dress themselves with caribou skin and enter a reconstruction of a shelter of the time.
