June 5, 2019 – Delson – This is World Environment Day today.
To mark this day, the MP for La Prairie, Jean-Claude Poissant, decided to offer a tree to each municipality in his riding.
“It’s kind of my way of demonstrating to municipalities that I care about the environment and, with this gesture, a great opportunity to invite all citizens to realize that it is more important than ever to care. of our planet. The future of our children and future generations is at stake. ”
A few weeks ago, Mr. Poissant presented a tree to the municipalities of Saint-Philippe and Saint-Constant as a legacy to mark their 275th anniversary. He decided to continue on this track, but this time as part of World Environment Day.
The member for La Prairie, who is also Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, reminded us that nature is at the heart of our Canadian identity. Our cultures, our health and our economy depend on it.
“On this World Environment Day, this year’s theme is #CombatteLaPollutionDelAir, it calls us all to make changes in our lives to help reduce air pollution and improve air quality,” noted M Poissant.
